About us

‘Oyna’ means ‘to dance’ in the Azeri language, spoken in Iran’s Azerbaijan Province, where both Aisan and Mehdi’s parents are from. The couple emigrated from Iran to the US in 2013 so Aisan could pursue her passion for dance. With a shared love of cuisine from all cultures, they decided to start a food business, bringing traditional Persian recipes to America.

Kuku Sabzi is a staple meal in Iran and was a regular dish on the family tables of Aisan and Mehdi, growing up. The couple were excited to introduce their version of this versatile, delicious food to the US. They took their idea to La Cocina and successfully graduated from their food business incubator program in 2016

Aisan and Mehdi have been honing their recipes and developing new ones ever since. Oyna Natural Foods and its signature dish celebrates their heritage and passions and brings a delicious and healthy taste of Persian culture to foodies in the Bay Area and beyond.
